Wayne Cummings

Wayne is the consummate hospitality leader, advancing policy directives, while getting down in the tourism trenches, helming myriad projects that have come to define Caribbean and world tourism standards.

Prior to his appointment as CEO of Arya Resorts Management on November 1, 2020, this 30 year hospitality professional was at the zenith of tourism leadership as a Senior Director at Sandals Resorts International, with overarching responsibilities for all the companies in the renowned Group, where he was recognized as a business trailblazer of immense value.

His 12 years at the resort chain’s corporate offices was preceded by a matching number of years as General Manager across several of the Group’s luxury all-inclusive properties in Jamaica. For those roles and his current one, Wayne who is eminently qualified was prepared by some of the world’s best academic institutions, including the Caribbean Governance Training Institute, from where he earned his Chartered Director designation; Ecole Hoteliere de Lausanne in Switzerland, where he pursued Applied Hospitality Management training; Hocking College in the USA where he was trained in Hotel/Restaurant Management Technology. This hospitality maverick is also professionally certified in Meeting Planning, Management Values, Security Management, Sales & Promotion, Quality Assurance and Environmental Management.

One who believes in organized transference of knowledge and embraces the principle of corporate and personal social responsibility, Wayne devotes time to national and regional service as President of the Jamaica Hotel & Tourist Association (2007 – 2011); board member of Jamaica Tourist Board, Jamaica Vacations (JAMVAC), Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association and Montego Bay Chamber of Commerce & Industry. The Arya Resorts Management CEO also serves as a Trustee of Jamaica’s Tourism Workers Pension Scheme.
